This is where I update you on what has changed on my site since the last time you were here. I'm going to try to maintain my dignity and not tell you about all the publications and award programs that have rejected me — ah, the life of a writer. What I will tell you is when I post new content and get new awards and ratings for this site. While this site is now over 10 years old, it's spent much of its life dormant, so we have a lot of posting and fixing to do. Believe me I've been trying.

October 25, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "Bronze Prospective Award," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

October 23, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "Beth's Pages Award — Silver," an AS! 3.5 rated honor.

September 18, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "Pelaqita Persians Award — Silver," an AS! 3.5 rated honor.

September 7, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an upgrade to Level 2 Rating with "Independent Award Givers Association."

September 6, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an intial Level 4.0 Rating with "WebsAwards."

September 5, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an upgrade to a Level 3.0 Rating with "United Web Site Award Givers."

September 2, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "Tim's Spider Award — Silver," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

September 1, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "Casey's Celtic Charm Award — Silver," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

August 26, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an upgrade to a Level 3.5 Rating with "Award Sites!"

August 24, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were proud to receive a Level 1 Rating in the "Diskus Award Index."

August 19, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "JerryD's Silver Award," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

August 16, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive "the "Phönix Award" in Bronze. Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an upgrade to Level 3 with the "F.R.I. index."

August 15, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were presented with an upgrade to level 8.0 with the "Belgica Excellence Index."

August 9, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "NEOVISION Bronze Award for Web Design."

August 5, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary is sponsoring an illustration contest for amateur illustrators.

July 31, 2009 — All 2008-2009 Writing Matters Web Excellence Award winners have been verified and posted by their application dates to avoid confusion. Winners will be posted this way from this point on. META keywords have been added to the winners' pages to assist search engines in posting by subject matter of the links.

July 30, 2009 — All Writing Matters Web Excellence Award applications submitted before July 1st have now been processed. Response time should now be back to normal.

July 26, 2009 — After 11.5 years of being hosted by Geocities at SoHo/1028, Randal's Sanctuary has moved and is now hosted by 1&1.

July 25, 2009 — Posted a new article on the index page for July/August; removed the previous article to my blog at http://randalsrhetoric.blogspot.com.

April 26, 2009 — Yahoo! has announced it is shutting down Geocities on October 26, 2009. I have purchased a new domain and will begin the process of moving Randal's Sanctuary and the Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards to the new location. Responses to award applications will be delayed during this move; applicants will be notified via e-mail of this delay.

March 29, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "Chameleon's Eye Award - Bronze," an AS! 3.5 rated honor.

March 22, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "O.N.Z.C.D.A Silver Award," an AS! 5.0+ rated honor.

March 11, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was selected by Award Sites! as the NovaSite for the month of March 2009."

February 1, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were rated Level 1 by Anita Eberline of the International Award Givers Association."

January 31, 2009 — The United Website Award Givers upgraded Randal's Sanctuary to the Bronze Seal of Approval."

January 26, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards were rated Level 2 by Anita Eberline of Awards Treasure Chest."

January 19, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "JerryD's Bronze Award," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

January 14, 2009 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards received our WAI compliance banner from Award Sites!

January 8, 2009 — Randal's Sanctuary received an updated Time Award for our 11th year online.

December 29, 2008 — Changes to the criteria for our Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards have been finalized for the 2009 calendar year.

December 28, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary officially added a section as http://www.randalssanctuary.com/Teaching/ went live today.

December 26, 2008 — Our Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards are now rated L2 with the "F.R.I. Award Index."

December 26, 2008 — Our Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards are now rated 7.5 with the "Belgica Excellence Index."

December 25, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "Vie's Inn of Wonders' Merit Award," an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

December 21, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "Rudolf's Wanderaward" in Gold, an AS! 3.0 rated honor.

December 19, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary was proud to receive the "Labore &c. Praemium" award from Judge J.R. Martin at KISS Websites, an AS! 4.0 rated honor.

December 17, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary has passed the minimum requirements for the Accessibility Awareness Access Key Award.

December 16, 2008 — Evaluations are finished for all Writing Matters Web Excellence Award applicants prior to December 1, 2008. We thank the applicants for their patience as we adjusted to deal with our programs overwhelming success.

November 7, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards receive a 3.5 rating from the Association for Web Awards Rating and Development.

November 1, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary receives a "Very Good" (4 out of 5) rating from the Canadian Web Awards.

October 8, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards receive a 3.0 rating from Award Sites!

October 5, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards receive a 2.0+ rating from United Web Site Award Givers.

October 4, 2008 — Alice Pandora announces the retirement of her award programs due to her abdominal cancer. I will leave my level 3 rating up until I would have been eligible for an upgrade, at which point I will retire it to my membership page with the other accolades from retired programs.

October 1, 2008 — I have published an article through Award Sites! entitled, "A Common Purpose."

September 21, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards receive a level 3 rating from Alice Pandora's Rating Program Association.

September 13, 2008 — Received and posted response from Representative Ike Skelton regarding 1LT Bernard H. Plassmeyer on Plassmeyer's page.

September 11, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Award Program is accepted into the International Ethics Program and made a provisional member of the WebsAwards.

September 6, 2008 — Posted a new article on the index page for September; removed the August article to my blog at http://randalsrhetoric.blogspot.com.

September 4, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Award Program is listed in the Firestarter Award Index.

September 1, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary wins Casey's Celtic Charm Merit Award, an AS! 5.0 rated honor.

August 31, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary is accepted as a member of The Ethics Pledge Program. Randal's Sanctuary receives Fun Tyme Entertainment Merit Award, an AS! 5.0 rated honor! Randal received 12 Independent Awards and 3 AS!-Rated Awards for the month of August.

August 28, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards becomes member of Award Community News (ACN).

August 23, 2008 — Randal wins "Most Spirited Legend" award from Site Fights for week of 8/23/08.

August 19, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary became an UWSAG Seal of Approval Nominee.

August 17, 2008 — Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards is listed in MSAP AP Listings. Randal's Sanctuary receives ICCS certification and licensing.

August 16, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary adopted Marine 1LT Bernard Herbert Plassmeyer as part of Operation Just Cause.

August 13, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary accepted as a member of the Association for Positive Ethical Exchange; Removed Bravenet Guestmap as it had never been used by guests.

August 12, 2008 — Added hyperlinks to sites describing the significant events mentioned in my grandfather's account of his participation in World War II and the Korean War; Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards listed in the Awards-Awards AP index.

August 2-10, 2008 — Site overhauled to bring current; applied to several web awards and ratings; posted preview and commentary to new poetry book, Leaving Home: Discoveries and Reflections of a Once-Sheltered Heart.

August 1, 2008 — Resurrected Award Program as "Writing Matters Web Excellence Awards;" applied for Award Sites! rating reinstatement.

January 8, 2008 — Randal's Sanctuary turns 10!

April 2, 2001 — Award Sites! removes 3.0 rating from our award program, listed under "Randal's Awards," due to retirement of the program.

July 1, 1999 — Web Award Program is started, "Randal's Awards;" AP receives 3.0 rating from Award Sites!

January 8, 1998 — Randal's Sanctuary is live on the Internet after moving from http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/2648!
